It took us seventeen minutes to get bundled and out the door with a few tantrums yelling, "no boots! no boots!" and crying over mittens that were hard to get used to.
It took us seventeen seconds to decide it was "too cold!" and time to go "back inside!"
So we came back inside and watched Daddo build a snowman, all by himself. This was thrilling. Ivar jumped back and forth on the couch stopping occasionally to look out the window while reporting to me excitedly, "Daddo! Outside! Snowman! Carrot!"

I can just see him bouncing around -hilarious! And good for Rory for sticking it out alone.
Daddo did a nice job!
There's just something about a sunset over the snow, isn't there? Beautiful photos, and a cute story!
Oh Becca, I can so relate! This was my life 3 years ago, except I had one child who refused to leave the outdoors and another who refused to enter it. Since a 3-year old cannot be left alone outside, we either had a tantrum from a baby who didn't want to be out in the cold or a tantrum from a 3-year old who didn't want to be stuck in the house. I'm thankful to report that everyone now loves bundling up and playing outdoors, so there's hope in your future! In the meantime, you are blessed to have a patient husband who's willing to "take one for the team" and a patient mommy who's so willing to go through 17 straight minutes of bundling only to undress them both 17 seconds later. No wonder why we pray for patience every morning! ;)
It's true, Rory is a good guy. And he makes a very perfect snowman.
What a beautiful picture. love, VAl
